Glendora, Calif. — The Citrus College Softball program got its fifth ever Conference Player of the Year over the weekend when freshman phenom Kawehi Ephan of Kaua‘i was named the Western State Conference South Division Player of the Year. In addition, Ephan picked up California Community College Athletic Association All-State honors, while seven other Owls were named to the All-WSC South team.
In her first year with the Owls, Ephan obliterated nearly every offensive record in program history. Ephan batted .562, drove in 54 RBIs, blasted 18 home runs, posted a .695 on-base percentage and led the State in slugging with a 1.425 slugging percentage. All those are new program records for the Owls. The slugging percentage led the entire CCCAA by nearly .400 points and broke the State record by almost .300 points.
