KAPA‘A — Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 21-year-old Kapa‘a woman, who was discovered dead Friday afternoon, according to the Kaua‘i Police Department.
The woman was found dead in her room at the Kawaihau Sports Villa condominium at around 2:30 p.m. Friday, police report.
Police have not yet released her identity.
The investigation into the cause of the victim’s death is preliminary and ongoing, but detectives have reason to suspect foul play.

“This is an ongoing investigation and details of the case will be released when appropriate,” states Assistant Chief of the Investigative Services Bureau Roy Asher. “But at this time we do have a person of interest in custody that may have more information to help us understand the circumstances that led to the victim’s death.”
An autopsy of the woman’s body is scheduled for Monday.
Kaua‘i Police Chief Darryl Perry added, “Our deepest condolences go out to the family of the victim. Please be assured that while every investigation of this kind is unique to its own set of circumstances, KPD will work in conjunction with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to use every resource available to identify and apprehend any offender.”
