Hilmy Dole named GM for Kaua‘i Sands
KAPA‘A — Hilmy Dole is the new general manager for the ocean front Kaua‘i Sands Hotel.
The announcement of Dole’s promotion came Thursday from Lite Hotels, a division of Aqua Hospitality, the parent company of Kaua‘i Sands and a group of hotels that appeal to budget-minded travelers.
“In the short time Hilmy has been with us, he has been a driving force at the hotel and leader for employees,” said Ben Rafter, president and CEO, Aqua Hospitality. “His years of experience are invaluable to us as we transition and guide the hotel through its refurbishment process.”
Dole joined Aqua in June 2012 as hotel manager. He has more than 20 years of experience in the visitor industry and Kaua‘i, having opened the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort & Spa in 1989.
Dole studied at the University of Hawai‘i, School of Travel Industry Management School. He majored in hotel and restaurant management.
