Hats off to Darnel Aquino and her Kaua‘i High School Project Grad committee on a great McNight fundraiser Wednesday night. The Lihu‘e McDonald’s was packed and Joyce Chuan said she misread the original flier and had to come back since she went on Tuesday.
Most of the Project Grad fundraising programs are winding down, and organizers are gearing up for the actual events now that graduation is right around the corner.
Kudos are in order for Kaua‘i County Engineer Larry Dill and Deputy County Engineer Lyle Tabata for stepping up to the plate and volunteering as science fair judges for Terri Amorin and Camille Gregory at King Kaumuali‘i Elementary School — those science projects were all winners! And, great job to the students for serving as personal guides to the judges, including Kapa‘a High School students who went up to the state science fair.
It’s going to be a busy weekend with everything from UH Coach Norm Chow and the Warrior football spring training to the Sheraton Kaua‘i craft fair (when is Chip Bahouth going to work on his get-up for the Charity Walk bowling tournament?) to Brad Hiranaka football.
Stay safe, Kaua‘i!
