Every American was in Boston
The question is not who, what or how. The question is why.
The answer is obvious. Our president, the police in every state, the National Security Force, must respond to this tragedy.
We — all of us — will feel the effects of this vicious act for years to come.
I think the president should declare a National Day of Mourning, however you may mourn. Hopefully, our collective tears will drown this madness.
Remember, in all this, many in America cheer.
Peace and love,

Stolen camera contains precious memories
I wanted to thank Chris D’Angelo for printing our story regarding our car rental theft at Papa‘a Beach parking lot. In my distress in relating our story, I gave the wrong make of camera.
The camera was a Canon Powershot A2300 digital. I sincerely hope the $150 reward gets the camera back to us.
There was also a stuffed toy (a Tasmanian devil) in the back seat that I had picked up on the island.
Not an item of any value but if someone notices that in the stolen dark gray Mazda car, it might lead to the camera.
The pictures of our granddaughters first week of life were by far definitely our greatest loss.
They are irreplaceable.

Mahalo Hanalei
My wife, two daughters and I would like to thank the residents of Hanalei, the police and firefighters, and other travelers for their kindness and assistance during the flash flood and subsequent bridge closure on the night of March 27.
Our party of 18, from Indiana, Minnesota and California, were stuck in our cars for 18 hours, hoping the Hanalei bridge would open.
We had driven north for a lu‘au and were dressed for a dinner out, unprepared for a night spent sleeping in our cars.
We had no change of clothes, food or lodging, and my friend’s 75-year-old mother and 73-year-old aunt were with us.
As we heard rumors that the bridge had been closed for flooding for several days last year, we began to despair.
Of course it eventually opened, but several people need to be thanked, and unfortunately I don’t know their names.
So we give a great thank you to the residents and tourists who offered to feed us and opened their homes to us for a hot shower, the owner of Tropical Taco who had free coffee for anyone and made scrambled eggs for the small children stuck in cars, the island mother and daughter who spoke to us and told us what the clouds on the mountains portended, the lu‘au performers who offered a hot breakfast at their church, and the police and firemen who kept testing the road for passage.
I would like to express a personal thanks to fireman (and I hope I get his name correct as I got it from someone by describing him as “the guy with the tattoo from his wrist to elbow”) Makalii Andrade.
His positive attitude and willingness to talk to us and keep us informed make him a credit to your state.
Thank you Hanalei.

Abortions are down played in the news
It is amazing to me how the Kermit Gosnell case has not merited more news coverage than it has up until now!
There are so many sensational facts to this story that any one of them would normally have warranted national news hysteria!
From the oversight of our government agencies, the Third World conditions of his clinic, the human rights violations, to the outright murder of women and babies!
Sadly, I know the real reason this has not been in the mainstream media — because it reflects badly on the progressive lefts pro-abortion stance.
They will cover and sensationalize anyone who commits a crime on the pro-life side of the issue, but will downplay cases as atrocious as this!
But what they don’t understand is that pro-life people do not need these type of crimes to fuel our determination to end abortion.
Whether an abortion is completed at the Ritz or in the slums ALL abortions are tragic and should be covered by the media!
Maybe then the genocide in this country will end!
