Akira Ishii
Akira Ishii of Koloa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 4, 2013, at the age of 88. He was born in Koloa, Kauai on December 13, 1924, and retired from the Department of Water as a cashier and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ishii of Koloa, two sons, James (Sandie) Ishii of Kapaa, Shane (Jaydene) Ishii of Koloa five grandchildren, Anthony, Sierra, Erika, Emma, Erielle; one brother, Takeshi (Reiko) Ishii of California; four sisters, Hatsuyo Maeda of Lihue, Haruko Otsubo of Lihue, Tomiko Kabazawa of Kalaheo, Lillian (Roy) Makizuru of Koloa; sister-in-law, Alma Ishii of Eleele; brothers-in-law, Nobu Ota of Kapaa, Muneo Nagato of Kalaheo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion in Hanapepe with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veteran Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Yoshiko Nakata Gokan
Yoshiko Nakata Gokan, 86, of Mililani, formerly of Lihue, died at home on April 8, 2013, surrounded by family. She was born in Hanapepe.
She is survived by sons Albert and Ian; daughters, Doreen Nakamoto, Patrice Baker and Helene (Daryl) Oyama; sisters, Ethel (James) Okada, Mildred Shirai and Eleanor Takanishi; grandchildren, Kevin Buck, Jennifer Baker, Shana Oyama, Amanda Baker and Sara Ford; and great grandchildren, Connor and Kari Oyama-Purisima.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013, with 4:00 PM visitation and service at 5:00 PM, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Inurnment at Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery, in Hanapepe, to be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Janet Hepa
Janet A. Hepa of Kapaa, Kauai, passed away on March 23, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. Born on November 16, 1933 in Lihue, Kauai She was a retired CNA at Home Health Care Services.
She is survived by her two sons; Samuel (Anna) Hepa, Derrick (Rubie) Hepa; Two Brothers; Linfat Akau, Milton (Linda) Akau; 11 Grandchildren & 9 Great Grandchildren. Numerous Nieces, & Nephews
Friends may visit with the family on Friday April 19, 2013 at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 10:00 am and services will be celebrated at 11:00am. Cremation to follow

Raymond Chow Sr.
Raymond Ah Fat Chow Sr. of Georgetown, Texas formerly of Lihue passed away at home on April 4, 2013, at the age of 82. He was born in Niumalu, Kauai on April 15, 1930. He was a maintenance engineer at Kauai Surf & the Westin Kauai Lagoons and an avid fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his parents Chow Yee and Chong Sing.
He is survived by his wife Merrill Chow; children, Cashmire Lopez; Raymond (Elvirne) Chow Jr.; Anne (Leslie) Milnes; Crystal Chow; Cindy (Joseph) Grajo; Candice Chow (Jamie Barry); sister, Dorothy Huddy; brother, Aki Chow; sisters in law, Mildred Chow; Maisie Chow; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Niumalu Canoe Club House in back of Anchor Cove, visitation from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and service to follow. No flowers please and Casual attire.

Charles Takeshi Ebesu
Charles Takeshi Ebesu of Kapaa, Kauai passed away at Queen Hospital on January 21, 2013 at the age of 83. He was born on January 3, 1930. He was a Tax Auditor State of Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife Kimiyo Ebesu; sons, Mark (Jane) Ebesu; Dewey (Joan) Ebesu; Randall Ebesu; daughter, Jann (Dave) Masaki; siblings, Kenneth (Eiko) Ebesu; James (Louise) Ebesu; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rudy Acain of Wahiawa, Hawaii passed away on March 11, 2013 at the age of 64. He was born on July 16, 1948, in Wahiawa, Hawaii, he was a retired supervisor with the Navy Public Works Center, a member of the United States Army and Air Force.
He is survived by his son, Justin Acain; daughters, Shawna (Randy) Lacuesta; Janelle Acain of CA; mother, Pacita Tolentino; step mother, Carmen Acain; brothers, Michael Tolentino; Nicolas Acain, Jr. of Kauai, HI; Billy Tolentino of CA; Julius Tolentino of CA; Michael Acain of CA; sisters, Ilona (Dwight) Robinson of NC; Elena (Kenneth) Gongob; Jackie Davis; Josie (Jerome) Edayan; Josie (Randy) Sagucio of Kauai HI; Marilyn (Gary) Gushiken; and 3 grandchildren.

Naty Sales Bumanglag of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 8, 2013 at the age of 73. She was born in the Philippines on December 2, 1940. She was an assistant with the United States Immigration Service.
She is preceded in death by parents, Florentino and Juana Sales.
She is survived by husband, Bobby Bumanglag of Lihue; sons, Rex Acosta of Lihue; Nelson (Harvette) Acosta of Hanapepe; daughters, Teresita “Teri” (Tony) Viernes of Honolulu; Marilyn (James) Orange, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Anthony (Francis) Sales of Lihue; sister, Amy Bumanglag Sales, of Wailua; numerous nieces and nephews.

Masako Shinno
Masako A. Shinno of Lihue passed away on April 9, 2013, at the age of 81. She was born in Naha, Okinawa on April 15, 1931, and retired from Lihue Barbecue Inn.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Shinno and son, George Shinno.
She is survived by six children, Lucille (Eric) Austin; Judi (Jed) Young; Naomi (Jesse) Fukushima; Eugene Shinno; Norman (Jill) Shinno; Gene (Barbi) Shinno; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Kapaa Missionary Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and services at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be private.

Marilyn Oglesby
Marilyn S. Oglesby of Kilauea and Illinois passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 11, 2013, at the age of 79. She was born in Olney, Illinois on October 13, 1933, and was a College Professor retired from Eastern Illinois University.
She is survived by her husband, J.W. Oglesby; one son, Jay (Stephanie) Oglesby of Indiana; one daughter, Marilee (George) Evans of Illinois; and one grandson.
Private services will be held.
