Kudos to Theresa Koki and her Life’s Choices Kaua‘i people on hosting the two town hall meetings where students and parents could get a lot of information about alcohol.
Rebecca Smith was doing stuff about tobacco, Kaulana Finn had her Big Brothers Big Sisters crew out to talk about its program.
But the big hit was Kaleo Pilanca, who opened everything with the conch shell, and Augie T, who met up with Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. (Cynthia Chiang wore her Planned Parenthood hat and got a photo with the mayor) for some catching up.
Ed Kawamura is gearing up for the garden fair Saturday with his mini gardens created using bags of potting soil, and by the time the M. Kawamura Farm Enterprises expo rolls around, he should have several “crops” of vegetables.
Also on Saturday is the Troy Barboza torch run to benefit the Kaua‘i Special Olympics.
