Tino Udarbe
Tino Arellano Udarbe of Kapaa, Kauai, passed away on March 30, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He was 78 years old. He was born on June 30, 1934 in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He retired from The Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa as Grounds Maintenance Personnel.

Survived by his son, Charito (Editha) Udarbe, his three daughters, Emily (Jhun) Mariano, Jane (Pio) Pimeinta, Mila (Steve) Absher, sister, Vicky Aquino; grandchildren, Noel Udarbe; Mark Udarbe; Catherine Quintos; Constantine (Lani) Udarbe; Charles Udarbe; Cheryl (Clifford) Villanueva; Jaimee Mariano; Jasmine Mariano; Joan Mariano; Racquel (Terrance) del Rosario; nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday April 20, 2013 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 8:30 am; services will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery.

Florencio Basilio
Florencio (Flory) Bumanglag Basilio of Eleele died peacefully at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 17, 2013 at the age of 64. He was born in San Nicholas IIocos Norte, Philippines on December 19, 1948. He retired from Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa, as a lead public area employee on Kauai.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eulalio and Alejandra Basilio; brother, Cornelio Basilio; late wife, Milagros Basilio; sister-in-law, Salvacion Basilio; brother-in-law, Victorino Villanueva Sr.; and his nephew Michael Basilio.
He is survived by his wife, Bonifacia A. Basilio of Eleele; son, John Mark of Eleele; daughters, Christine (Rish Charles) Cablingan of Eleele, Milaflor (Richard Galano) Basilio of Eleele, Florence (Randall Koide) Basilio of Honolulu, Jennelyn Basilio of Eleele; brothers, Teofilo Basilio of Kalaheo, Roberto (Estrella) Basilio of Maui, Felino (Dionicia) Basilio of Eleele, and Rhomy (Cely) Basilio of Eleele; sisters, Carridad Villanueva of Waimea, Lucena (Agrifino) Bunsaan of Waimea, and Angela (Patrick) Tayamen of Eleele; sister in law, Clarita Basilio of Kekaha; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
Friends may visit with the family at 6pm on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai, with service to follow. Again, visitation at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo with mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., burial to follow at Lihue Cemetary. Casual attire.

Yoshiko Nakata Gokan
Yoshiko Nakata Gokan, 86, of Mililani, formerly of Lihue, died at home on April 8, 2013, surrounded by family. She was born in Hanapepe.
She is survived by sons Albert and Ian; daughters, Doreen Nakamoto, Patrice Baker and Helene (Daryl) Oyama; sisters, Ethel (James) Okada, Mildred Shirai and Eleanor Takanishi; grandchildren, Kevin Buck, Jennifer Baker, Shana Oyama, Amanda Baker and Sara Ford; and great grandchildren, Connor and Kari Oyama-Purisima.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 4:00 PM, at Garden Island Mortuary. Inurnment at Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery, in Hanapepe, to be held at a later date.
Carolina Maghanoy
Carolina Philothea Maghanoy of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 9, 2013, at the age of 67. She was born in Laoag City, Philippines on May 20, 1945, and retired as a registered nurse from Wilcox Memorial Hospital after 44 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Maghanoy; mother, Editha Pascual; close and loving friend and caretaker, Richard Janik MD; one brother, Bobby (Harlean) Pascual; three sisters, Elaine (Jon) Pingue, Jane Pascual, Meldy Pascual; nephews and nieces, Jonathan Pingue, Yvonne Pingue, Justine Pingue, Harbert BJ (Mindi) Pascual, Treb (Nicole) Pascual; grand nieces and grand nephews, Mia, Tristan, Britton, TJ; Auntie Maximina Pascual; cousins; Sally, Dely, Catherine, Merlyn, Eleanor and their families; Chance and Angel, her beautiful companions.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 9:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment of her ashes will be held at a later date for family.

Kiyoshi Ogihara
Kiyoshi Ogihara, 87, of Kapaa, Kauai, passed away at home on April 10, 2013. Born on December 14, 1925 in Santa Monica California, he was a Civil Servant Director of civilian personnel with US Federal Government and a Golf enthusiast.
Predeceased by his wife, Midori Ogihara; son, Kenneth Kenichi Ogihara; and brother, Shizuo Ogihara.
He is survived by his daughter, Kiyomi Valdez of Calif.; brothers, Masaru Ogihara of Japan, and Isamu Ogihara of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, Fumiko Yang of Honolulu, and Chiyoko Kinoshita of Japan; six grandchildren, Eric, Derek (wife Rose), Tracy Ai, Teresa Baumgardner, Maryann Valdez, and Lena Valdez; and five great-grandchildren.

Akira Ishii
Akira Ishii of Koloa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 4, 2013, at the age of 88. He was born in Koloa, Kauai on December 13, 1924, and retired from the Department of Water as a cashier and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ishii of Koloa, two sons, James (Sandie) Ishii of Kapaa, Shane (Jaydene) Ishii of Koloa five grandchildren, Anthony, Sierra, Erika, Emma, Erielle; one brother, Takeshi (Reiko) Ishii of California; four sisters, Hatsue Maeda of Lihue, Haruko Otsubo of Lihue, Tomiko Kabazawa of Kalaheo, Lillian (Roy) Makizuru of Koloa; sister-in-law, Alma Ishii of Eleele; brothers-in-law, Nobu Ota of Kapaa, Muneo Nagato of Kalaheo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013, at Veterans Cemetery Pavilion in Hanapepe with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veteran Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Rudy Acain
Rudy Acain of Wahiawa, HI passed away on March 11, 2013 at the age of 102. Born on July 16, 1948, in Wahiawa, HI, he was a retired supervisor with the Navy Public Works Center, a member of the United States Army and Air Force.
He is survived by his son, Justin Acain; daughters, Shawna (Randy) Lacuesta, Janelle Acain of CA; mother, Pacita Tolentino, brothers, Michael Tolentino, Nicolas Acain, Jr. of Kauai, HI, Billy tolentino of CA, Julius Tolentino of CA, Michael Acain of CA; sisters, Ilona (Dwight) Robinson of NC, Elena (Kenneth) Gongob, Jackie Davis, Josie (Jerome) Edayan, Josie (Randy) Sagucio of Kauai, HI, Marilyn (Gary) Gushiken; and 3 grandchildren.
