LIHU‘E — The final decision-making meeting tentatively scheduled for Tuesday on Kaua‘i has been postponed until further notice, said Jobie Masagatani, chair of the Hawaiian Homes Commission, in a letter dated April 3.
“The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands appreciates your mana‘o expressed at the March 8 Beneficiary Consultation meeting (at the Anahola Clubhouse), and the two public hearings held on March 14 and 15, on the proposed Anahola Renewable Energy project,” Masagatani said in the letter. “As a result, due to overwhelming concerns on the proposed project, DHHL is taking another look at the project. We will seek to propose changes to the portions of the lease, which relate to the concerns raised.”
Masagatani said people seeking to comment can do so online until Monday.
A formal report on the beneficiary consultation meeting and the two public hearings will be posted on the DHHL website by the end of April.
