“OMGeee,” her mom said in the email. “I’m so sad that I wasn’t there to lift my arms and scream ‘Cheehoo!’ But I’m definitely proud of her accomplishments. She exceeds my expectations every single day.”
Sherri said she never thought Kawehi would enjoy the Mainland. Kawehi’s college is in Glendora, Calif.
“She was always an ‘opihi to her momma,” Sherri said. “But she loves it. She loves being independent and having her space to grow. For that, I am grateful for the many blessings.”
