HONOLULU — Hawai‘i has some of the best guides anywhere, and the first-ever Ecotour Guide of the Year award intends to honor the best and brightest of all the Islands.
This new award was created by the Hawai‘i Ecotourism Association’s Board of Directors, and is open to employees of an Association member.
Nominees should embody the core assets of quality ecotourism, such as effective interpretation, conservation of natural resources and authentic cultural experiences.
Nominations will be accepted through April 5. Three finalists will be chosen and the voting process will be opened to the general public.
To submit a nomination email HEA at admin@Hawai‘iecotourism.org. Include “Ecotour Guide of the Year Nomination” in the subject line of the email.
The email must include the name of the HEA Member Organization/Employer and contact information, along with the nominee name and ecotourism credentials, and the reasons why they are nominated in 250 words or less.
Finalists will be announced on the HEA Facebook page on April 12, at which time voting will commence.
The winner will be announced at the HEA annual awards luncheon in May.
