Edith Sueko Kawane of Hanapepe Heights died at Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital longterm on March 25, 2013 at the age of 95. A former proprietor of Sue’s Snack Shoppe in Eleele, she was born on June 5, 1917 at Hanapepe, Kauai.
Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kawane; brother, Katsuyoshi Kurokawa; sisters, Misayo Nakata; Shizuno Murokami; and Misue Ishida.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Joann) Kawane; daughters, Naomi (Frank) Watanabe; and Janice (Xavier) Ignacio; grandsons, Reid Kawane; Scott (Kandyce) Watanabe; Ross (Cathy) Kagawa; granddaughters, Lori (Peter) Uchiyama; Debra (Davis) Yogi; great-grandchildren, Malia and Kalei Kagawa; Dayna and Darian Yogi, Tyler, Cole, and Aimee Uchiyama; and Kody and Kaden Watanabe; sisters-in-law, Hidemi Kawane; and Akiko Kurokawa of Kauai, and Ruth Hanada of Honolulu; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Private services were held.
