Eugenio “Rudy” Alaibilla Azares of Puhi passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 26, 2013, at the age of 90. He was born in Raois Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on February 25, 1923, and retired from McBryde Sugar Plantation as a crew chief.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Constante “Tante” Azares Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Leonidas “Lee” Azares; three sons, Constante “Tante” Azares; Samuel J. Azares; Leonard “Kimo” Azares; three daughters, Eugenie “Genie” (Robert “Baba”) Carvalho; Francine (Sonny) Dizol; Patricia (Roland “Skip” Jr.) Santos; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Maximiniana “Rita” Valensuela; Rosario “Rosie” Azares and 4 nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at a late date. Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Azares family with arrangements.
