The National Weather Service has cancelled the flash flood watch for the island of Kaua’i as the heavy rainfall is moving eastward.

One lane of Kuhio Highway in the vicinity of the Hanalei Bridge is now open, and traffic in the area is being controlled by police officers.
Hanalei Elementary School is now closed as a holding area.
Classes will resume Thursday.
A water conservation request issued by the Department of Water earlier today for Hanalei residents is continuing as a precautionary measure to allow for the refilling of the Hanalei water tank.
