ANINI — Two men who were swept out to sea at ‘Anini Beach Sunday afternoon made it safely back to shore with the assistance of firefighters from the Hanalei Fire Station.
The men were in the water at around 2:16 p.m. when they encountered difficulty.
E-1 and T-1 were dispatched to the scene. Jet Ski 1 was also called to provide assistance.
Two firefighters paddled out to the surf zone and rescued one man, transferring him to the paddle board. From there, Jet Ski 1 brought the man safely to shore, and he required no further assistance.
The other man managed to make it to shore on his own.
