HANAPEPE — The public is invited to attend a presentation this week by representatives of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on a Hanapepe levee project.
The informational meeting will be held at the Hanapepe Neighborhood Center on Thursday, at 6 p.m.
The Corps of Engineers will discuss upcoming repair work planned for the levee, which sustained some damage during a period of heavy rain in February 2008. Shortly after the storm, the county performed temporary repairs on the levee under the guidance of the Corps.
