Orlando Padilla
Orlando “Vicente” Padilla of Brydeswood, Kalaheo, died on Feb. 6, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. Born on Nov. 2, 1926, in Kipu, Kauai, he was a food service worker with Wilcox Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Padilla and Datiba; brother, Paul; and sister, Datiba.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Padilla; son, Bennie Padilla; daughter, Virgielyn Padilla; brothers, Alfred Padilla, Aurilio Padilla, Santos Padilla, George Padilla, and Charles Padilla, all of Honolulu, and Raymond Padilla of California; sister, Cralina Tacderan of Honolulu; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. visitation, and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Lihue Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Domingo Laranio
Domingo Don Laranio of Kapaa passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on February 17, 2013, at the age of 88. He was born in Kapaa on January 4, 1925, and retired as a tour bus driver with Gray Line Tours. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Laranio; daughters, April and Hazel Rellin; brothers, Bacillio Dick Laranio, Francisco Cisco Omaya; sisters, Helen Mandrial and Mary Rasay.
He is survived by nine children, Martha (Dennis) Kaminski, Dolores (William) Barry, Annie Rellin, Sheila (Ralph) Schmarje, Timothy Laranio, Wayne (Leilani) Laranio, Carmela Cabacungan, Novella (Lawrence) Natividad, Domingo (Cassie) Laranio; numerous step-children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Cemetery pavilion with visitation services beginning at 1:30 p.m. and services at 2:00 p.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Laranio family with arrangements.
Gary H. Matsumura
Gary H. Matsumura of Kalaheo, died on February 21, 2013 at Garden Island Healthcare Center at the age of 93. Born on May 6, 1919 in Kapaa, Kauai, he was a Retired Lieutenant for the Kauai Police Department.
He is survived by his loving family and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9:00a.m.
Memorial Services will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary
Primitivo Corpuz
Primitivo Miguel Corpuz of Koloa died on March 2, 2013 at his home in Koloa at the age of 90. Born on June 7, 1922 in the Philippines, he was a Retired Tractor Operator of McBryde Sugar Company.
He is survived by his wife, Josefina Corpuz; son, Victor Corpuz; daughter, Lowelyn Corpuz; Sister, Antonia (Arsenio) Aceret, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Koloa Public Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Cresencia Cabradilla
Cresencia Callejo Cabradilla of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 2, 2013, at the age of 100. She was born in Santa, Lucia, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on September 11, 1912.
Preceded in death by her husband, Semion Cabradilla; children, Roperto Cabradilla, Cornelia Tolentino, Florencio Cabradilla; and granddaughter, Joyce Tolentino.
She is survived by her son, Jose Cabradilla; daughter, Josephine Tejada; 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, and extended family.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Immaculate Conception church with viewing from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
