Marylyn Gerardo
Marylyn Kapualani Gerardo of Hanamaulu passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on February 6, 2013, at the age of 41. She was born in Lihue on October 27, 1971 and was formerly employed as the front desk assistant manager with Kauai Beach Resort.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Gerardo.
She is survived by her lifetime companion, Jerry Aquias; two sons, Austin Aquias and Isaiah Aquias; one daughter, Jaslyn Aquias; seven siblings, Joyce (Terry) Daligdig, James K. Gerardo, Alison (Clayton Sr.,) Silva, Brenda (Rey) Coloma, Alan Gerardo, Kathy (Mathew) Louis, Brian (Shanell) Gerardo; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 23. 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted Marylyn’s family with arrangements.
Karen Clifford
Karen Ann Clifford, of Princeville, Kauai passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the age of 70 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
Proceeded in death by her parents, Glenn and Ann Johnson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, James Beryl “Bill” Clifford, sons, Marc and Mike Dahlquist; daughter, Amy Clifford Wamhoff, step-sons, James Scott, Robert “Bob” and Bradley Clifford; grandchildren, Jade, Joshua, Elizabeth, Zach, Mackenzie, Spencer, Abby and Ally; brothers, James Timothy and Glen Craig Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. Wai’oli Hui’ia Church in Hanalei with Pastor Alpha D. Goto Officiating.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Clifford family with arrangements.
Rudy Alao
Rudy R. Alao of Kalaheo, Kauai passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2013 at the age of 59. He was born on July 12, 2013 in Lihue, Kauai. He was a retired scale attendant with the County of Kauai and an Air Force Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Zoilo Alao, and Rosella Kuarom Alao; and sister, Peggy Alao Basuel.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Silva Alao of Kalaheo; sons, Jensen and Gerald Alao, both of Kalaheo; brothers, Dennis Alao, Larry (Penny) Alao, Eric (Jeri) Alao, Quintin (Nicole) Alao, Gaivin (Gemma) Alao, and Vince (Essie) Alao; sisters, Lydia (John) Schornach, Rena (Blu) Ulanday, Janise (Kevin) Gusman, Norma Alao, and Zelda (Nolan) Alvarado; father and mother-in-law, Charles “Joe” Silva and Lillian Muraoka Silva; brother-in-law, Charlie (Della) Silva, sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Ronnie) Dotario, Theresa (George) Castillo, Bonnie (Mala) Lanning, and Lynn (Teddy) Perreira; and extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will start at 9:00 am with mass to be celebrated at 10:00 am.
Burial will follow at the Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe.
The family suggests casual or aloha attire. Donation may be made in lieu of flowers to Kauai Hospice.

Norma Ah Nung McKenzie
Norma Ah Nung McKenzie, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, passed away February 3, 2013 at Castle Medical Center at the age of 60. Born on August 15, 1952 in Lihue, Kauai, she was a waitress for the California Hotel restaurant.
She is survived by her brothers, Arthur Chow of Lihue, Wesley Chow of Kalaheo, Russell Chow of Lihue, sisters, Donna Nakao of Lihue, Helan Hanohano of Lihue, Leona Ferraro of Nevada.

Arrangements were handled by Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Ellen Doi
Ellen Toyoko Asato Doi of Lawai (formerly of Honolulu) passed away at Straub Hospital on January 21, 2013 at the age of 87. She was born in Makawao, Maui on December 13, 1925. She is the retired proprietor of Kalaheo Luncheonette, Motel, Laundromat and Steak House.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth T. Doi; parents, Shohachi and Tomi Asato; brothers, Shotaro, Takashi and Masahiko Asato; and sisters, Masae Higa, and Jane Asato.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (James Jr.) Bacarro; three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; brother, Ernest Asato; sister, Betty Kadekawa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held on Oahu.
