Annually, the North Shore Lions Club awards scholarships to students continuing their education beyond high school. Applicants must live in the area between Moloa‘a and Ha‘ena, and show proof of acceptance at a college, university or vocational trading school.
Awards will be based on financial need, academic achievement and community/extra-curricular involvement. In 2012, a total of $10,000 was awarded.
Applications for both scholarships may be found at www.kauainorthshorelions.org; the Kaua‘i Christian Academy, Kapa‘a High School and Kaua‘i Community College counseling officers or by writing to the North Shore Lions Scholarship Committee at P.O. Box 985, Hanalei, Hawai‘i 96714.
Deadline for entry is March 31.
