PUHI — Kaua‘i Community Players will step out of its usual role as play producer by sponsoring a rock ‘n’ roll dance Saturday at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse.
The post-Valentine’s Day dance is billed as “Love the One You’re With” Valentine Rock ‘n’ Roll Dance Party and Food Fest.
The event runs from 7 to 11 p.m.
Cooks on the KCP Board will provide pupu and dessert as board member Jeff Elkins performs on guitar. A no-host bar will offer beer and wine.
Dancing begins at 8 p.m. with DJ Daniel Degracia spinning music from the 1950s through 80s.
An occasional karaoke love song may give attendees a chance to express their feelings in song.
In addition to dancing, a photo “Kissing Booth” and a fortune-teller will add to the fun of the evening, KCP President Wil Welsh said.
This fundraising event will support the KCP’s upcoming stage productions of “The Dixie Swim Club” opening March 15, and the musical “Working,” which opens May 3.
Tickets are $30 per person, $50 per couple, with a discount available for KCP members.
Advance tickets can be purchased by visiting www.KauaiCommunityPlayers.org or by calling Brown Paper Tickets at 1 (800) 838-3006. Space is limited.
The Puhi Theatrical Warehouse is located at 4411 E. Kikowaena St. in Puhi.
