The Kapa‘a High School boys soccer team earned the No. 2 seed at the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Division II boys soccer state championship, which starts Thursday on O‘ahu.
The Warriors won the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation boys soccer title early in the season and will open its state bid in a 3 p.m. match against the Hawai‘i Preparatory Academy at the Waipi‘o Peninsula Soccer Complex in the quarterfinals of the Division II playoffs.
Top seed for Division II is Konawaena. Kalaheo High School gets the No. 3 seed and Seabury Hall is seeded No. 4.
Other teams participating in the Division II title bid include Farrington, Mid Pacific and Christian Liberty.
Mililani draws the top seed for the boys Division I championship bracket followed by Punahou at the No. 2 seed, Kealakehe getting the No. 3 seed and Kamehameha Schools-Maui getting the No. 4 seed.
Other teams participating in the Bracket I play include Hilo, Kalani, ‘Iolani, Campbell, King Kekaulike, Pearl City, Kapolei and Kaiser.
Should the Kapa‘a boys win its Thursday quarterfinal match, they face the winner of the Kalaheo and Christian Liberty game on Friday at 1 p.m.
The Division II boys championship is scheduled for Saturday, starting at 5 p.m.
