Josefina Sagucio
Josefina Beltran Fayloga Sagucio of Eleele, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on January 4, 2013 at her residence at the age of 98. Born on March 16, 1914, in Pagudpud, Bangui, Ilocos Norte, she was a laborer at Dole Cannery, Kapaa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Gervacio Sagucio; and parents, Venancio and Victoria Beltran Fayloga; and four brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Esperanza (Orlino) Antolin Sr.; five grandchildren, Oriente (late Garrick) Nakaahiki, Rosaly (Frank) Domenden, Leoni (Allan) Texeira, Orlino (Ivy) Antolin Jr. and Imelda (Paul) Delos Reyes; ten great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Saint Johns Episcopal Church, Eleele. Visitation will be from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. with mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.; Burial to follow at Kalapaki Bay Cemetery, Lihue.

Avelina U. Bumagat
Avelina U. Bumagat of Lihue went peacefully to the lord at the Provincial Hospital in Laoag City, Philippines on December 8, 2012 at the age of 81. She was born in Lihue, Hawaii on April 28, 1931. She was a homemaker and loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Carlina Jiminez; mother, Isabel Fernandez; and step-father, Sylvestre Fernandez.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Felipe R. Bumagat; son and daughters, Rozel (Wayne) Ebinger, Henry (Delia) Bumagat, Delia (Jun) Astrologio, Joannie Bumagat, Marina (Lance) Nojima, Aleli Teresita (Sammy) Cadiz, Ruena Bumagat; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grand child; one brother, Blas (Florida) Robledo; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
A gathering in the celebration of her life will be held at Niumalu Pavilion on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 6 p.m.
Julia Manguchei
Julia Boreliz Manguchei of Kapaa passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on January 29, 2013, at the age of 90. She was born in Koloa on July 11, 1922, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pascual Boreliz and Carmela Rivera; husband Manuel Manguchei Sr.; sons, Manuel Manguchei Jr., Leonard Manguchei; daughter-in-laws, Zenaida Manguchei and Marie Manguchei.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Nenalyn A.) Manguchei of the Philippines and Leroy (Matilde) Manguchei of Wailua Houselots; daughter-in-law, Mary Manguchei of Wailua Homesteads; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Olympia) Boreliz of California, Tony (Isabel) Boreliz of Texas; sister, Lucy Monroy of Hanamaulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Immaculate Conception church with viewing from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Florence V. Barale
Florence V. Barale of Wailua, formerly of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2013 at the age of 97. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 18, 1915.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Barale.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Ann Barale of Wailua; her daughter, Lucille Barale Ceurvorst and her husband, Michael Anthony Ceurvorst of Lawai; her granddaughter, Lucille Teckla Ceurvorst Wolff and her husband Daniel Wolff of Hong Kong; her grandson, Michael John Cantor Ceurvorst and his wife, Sharon Cantor Ceurvorst of Arlington, Virginia; and her nephew, Bill Swenson of Chicago, Illinois.
Florence will be remembered at the 4:30 p.m. Mass at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo on Saturday, February 2 and Sunday at 9:30am. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember Florence at the home of Michael and Lucille Ceurvorst on Saturday evening, February 2, at 6:00 p.m.
The Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Liane Sasan
Liane Sasan of Lihue passed away at home on January 22, 2013, at the age of 77. She was born in Germany on January 5, 1936.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Sasan of Lihue; four daughters, Diana “Cookie” (Darrell Jacobs) Puahala of Kapaa, Donna “Sissy” (Wilfred) Jerves of Kapaa, Liane “Tootsie” (Leo Borrero) Sasan of Lihue, Heidi (Bernie) Duarte of Kapaa; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; one sister, Inge (Rex) Maroney of Alabama; two brothers, Wilhelm (Helga) Schoberl and Josef (Edith) Schoberl of Germany; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life was held privately.

Ward K. Peters
Ward Kawaioluokalani Peters passed away on January 13, 2013 in Sacramento, California at the age of 45. Born on June 30, 1967 in Kauai, Hawaii, he was a Machine/production operator for various Dairy companies in Sacramento, California.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise K Peters; father, Spencer K. Peters Sr.; and Lucinda K. Peters.
He is survived by two sisters, Venus K. Corpuz of Kalaheo, Penlois M. (Daryl) Pundkye of Hanamaulu; and one brother Spencer K. (Sherry) Peters Jr. of San Leandro, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held on February 4, 2013 3 p.m. at Salt Pond, Pavilion 1.
Patricia “Pat” Rose Robinson
Patricia “Pat” Rose Robinson of Eugene, Oregon (formerly of Kauai), passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2012, at the age of 80. Born on March 13, 1932, in Sacramento, California, she was the former Director of Kauai Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents Geoffrey and Catherine Davis; and brother, William Davis.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerry; daughters Cathi Malama Robinson, Jan (Rodney) Pascua, Suzan (Gene) Gebow; and son, John (Jona Mae) Robinson; sister-in-law, Renee Davis; and brother, Geoff (Carla) Davis, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A private scattering of her ashes was held on Kauai. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Poipu Beach Park at 2:00 pm.
Family requests that attendees wear something blue and green, Pat’s favorite colors.
