KILAUEA — The search for Brian Baker, who apparently drowned off of South Kalihiwai Point on Friday, continued Monday, officials said, but his body has yet to be found.
Kaua‘i Fire Department’s Air 1 made aerial searches in the morning and afternoon today without locating the body.
In addition, fire personnel made visual searches from various points along the coast.
Baker, 47, drowned late Friday afternoon along with 46-year-old Adam Griffiths, who jumped into the choppy waters after Baker was swept off a rocky outcropping near Kalihiwai Point.
County officials said that they have not determined whether they will make any more additional searches for Baker’s body. Griffiths was recovered on Saturday.
The National Weather Service issued another high surf warning for north and west facing shores yesterday. It is set to expire today at 6 p.m.
