LIHU‘E — U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-District 2) concluded her first official visit to Hawai‘i since taking office with a Mahalo Luncheon Jan. 13 in Lihu‘e.
Approximately 100 people gathered at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center for the event, which included a buffet-style lunch and live music.
Gabbard’s visit was part of five days of meetings throughout the state focusing on her recent appointments to the House Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs committees.
While on Kaua‘i, Gabbard spent the day attending a groundbreaking ceremony for the biomass-to-energy Green Energy LLC facility near Koloa, as well as meeting with community organizations, transportation officials from the airport and harbor divisions, native Hawaiian organizations, local businesses and other elected officials.
