PO‘IPU — The fish market is open at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.
In answer to a visiting family’s query of a fish market that offers to-go or sit-down dining of fish dishes set in a marketplace setting, the hostess was surprised when learning the visiting family’s description fit her restaurant.
The Shops at Kukui‘ula announced the addition of The Dolphin Fish Market & Sushi Lounge to its growing family of merchants in the shopping facility located near the Po‘ipu roundabout.
“I’ve had lunch here, and the food is really good,” said Stacy Chiba, The Shops at Kukui‘ula’s assistant real estate manager. “The people in our sales office come here, frequently.”
Opening Nov. 5, 2012, the Dolphin has been refining its offerings and formally announced its opening last week.
The fish market, located adjacent to the Kukui‘ula sales office, offers a large selection of fresh fish from local waters and fishermen.
“We are stoked to be open at The Shops at Kukui‘ula, and pleased so many of our long time customers have already found us in our new location on the South Shore,” said Bryson Sugahara, general manager of The Dolphin Fish Market & Sushi Lounge in Hanalei, and now, in Po‘ipu. “We are thrilled to be part of the excitement of all the new stores and restaurants taking place at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.”
Attached to the restaurant and sushi lounge is The Dolphin Fish Market, which provides high-quality, local Hawaiian seafood, sushi rolls and a wide variety of condiments, states a Kukui‘ula release.
“It is with great excitement that we welcome an island tradition from Hanalei into our South Shore ‘ohana,” says Helaine Perel, The Shops at Kukui‘ula real estate manager, in the release. “This enables us to bring even greater diversity to our center.”
Coming on the heels of the formal opening of Coldwell Banker Makai Properties, Chiba said there is a lot of excitement at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.
Chiba said some of the excitement includes an opening of a new tenant merchant coming soon, a change in the Merriman’s Downstairs menu and Happy Hour and some exciting plans for the weekly Kaua‘i Culinary Market on Wednesdays.
