Congratulations to Eric Knutzen and all those involved in the blessing of the biomass plant, which when online, should help us save on our electric bill and reduce dependency on fossil fuels.
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard made it, although they got caught in the traffic tie-up when Dennis Esaki had to go pick up the lei from Teddy Blake.
No one is immune from traffic tie-ups because even Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. had to deal with it en route to the blessing, Sunday morning. Kudos to the Earthworks people for making sure no one got stuck in the mud, despite the soggy conditions, too.
Mahalo to Carolyn Lum and Laurie Ho for the “lunch bag” at the Family and Community Education meeting. Lenore Klass was in Honolulu with husband Bob, volunteering at the Sony Open (Alton Amimoto flew out for the event Saturday), but made sure all her key people got recognition and goodies.
Lorna Santos of the Lawai Cannery Self Storage said this Sunday is the garage sale benefiting the Waimea High School Project Grad (Lynn Tamashiro said they’ll be some roast pork), and Jason Fujinaka is wondering if Val Rynda will be back in time.
