People interested in paddling outrigger canoes can visit the Kukui‘ula Outrigger Canoe Club during its welcome day Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kukui‘ula Small Boat Harbor.
Located on Lawai Road on the way to the Spouting Horn lookout, Kukui‘ula Outrigger Canoe Club is currently recruiting new paddlers for the 2013 season.
Interested people are encouraged to bring a swimsuit and towel.
Safety is the priority focus of the Kukui‘ula Outrigger Canoe Club and interested people should be a good swimmer, be in good health and have some athletic ability.
All interested men and women, novice or experienced, are welcome to learn the art of Hawai‘ian outrigger canoe paddling while getting out onto the water and getting into shape.
Membership is $150 for the year.
The Kukui‘ula Outrigger Canoe Club will be welcoming new members and novice paddlers throughout January and February.
