On GMO opponents paint Po‘ipu Bypass Road
In reality, we are all GMOs: evolution is all about that. However, splicing into genes to bring out certain “desirable” characteristics is playing with matches around an open container of gasoline: do the so-called scientists paid by the agribusinesses remember the old rule of unintended consequences? I guess not. Money seems to occlude self-evident truths.

Obviously a bad idea to paint the road. The bio-tech companies have been lying and deceiving us for many years now by selling us GMO plants unlabelled. They recently attained permission to genetically modify animals (salmon/eel) and are working on genetically modifying humans next.

On Wailua multi-use path rolls out
If this is such a structurally sound area to build a bike path, why are you putting down “removable” slabs? Do you plan on, say, maybe REMOVING it in the future!? So why go to all this trouble if you know you are going to have to move the path elsewhere once Wailua Beach disappears?! Madness. And cutting down those trees is just going to speed up the erosion process. Those trees are saving the highway from being eroded. Tear down Coco Palms already and build us some sound infrastructure.

Finally the link from Wailua to Lydgate will be complete soon! Mahalo to so many who have worked so hard and for so long to make it possible! The public, for generations to come, will be richly rewarded. Now if the county/state and volunteers can resurrect Coco Palms into a Public Park and Hawaiian historic site for all to enjoy.

The path was a good idea twenty-five years ago. Now it’s just a reminder of our not seeing past our own noses. It will soon be in the ocean.

Long live the bike path. May it run from Ke‘e to Polihale! At least it’s a tangible, useful thing our tax money is being used for.

On swimming pool equipment vandalized
Auwe! It is so sad to see that there is someone or a group of people, for that matter, with the attitude of being nasty and destructive. What was to be gained by maliciously vandalizing the pool equipment for the handicapped at the Waimea swimming pool? If that made you feel like a powerful “big shot,” you are deluded.
The pride of the “Menehune Spirit” has now been seriously tarnished by this dastardly act. We cannot merely shrug our shoulders with disdain and disappointment. To those responsible: You need to seriously seek ways to heal your soul. Whatever it is that is bothering you, being vicious and destructive can only lead to more negativity in your life. Get help.
