Kudos to Risa Clemmons on a great craft fair in Kilauea near the Kaua‘i Mini Golf (David Simon had some great specials going on at the same time). Jeri Jenkins of Novato, Calif., was waiting on the hula girls, but settled for the Tahitian drumming, instead.
Rynea Gorospe (she’s at the Coconut Marketplace farmers markets on Tuesdays and Thursdays) the banana bread lady had a full supply of her stock, and Mary Lardizabal had her family in tow, enjoying a break from Kapa‘a Middle School ‘Ukulele Band and Choir performances. She said the next gig for the ‘ukulele kids is on Jan. 5.
Marian Akagi was out looking for the Shinil Quilty soaps, but came up empty, and Christine Mryval said business for her pendants was pretty good. The only thing missing was a visit from Bill Troutman.
Kudos also to Philip Baclayon, John Kaneholani (saw him between breaks in the kitchen) and the Kapa‘a basketball program on a great holiday tournament! You know it’s basketball because coach Mits Yokotake was there enjoying the action.
