After 21 years of offering a free tow for those who had too much to drink to drive home during the Christmas and New Year holidays, Roger Ridgley of A Tow In Paradise, wants to remind everyone, “Do not drink and drive!”
Ridgley wrote TGI to announce that he is not offering the service this year and will spend time with family and friends. He added his thanks to “all those who called and made the roads safer for all.”
Ridgley also said that AAA is offering a “Tipsy Tow.” To receive the free tow and ride home, drivers (members or not) may call 1-800-222-4357. A regular AAA Hawai‘i-contracted emergency road service truck will then be dispatched. The service runs from 6 p.m. today through 6 a.m. New Year’s Day, according to Ridgley. Callers should keep in mind that the service excludes rides for passengers, is restricted to a one-way, one-time ride for the driver and the destination is limited to the driver’s residence.
