LIHU‘E — Members of the Kaua‘i branch of the Boys & Girls Club Hawai‘i were recently treated to Christmas at Kukui Grove Center through the courtesy of The Parrish Collection Kaua‘i.
Jonathan “JP” Parrish, president and principal broker of The Parrish Collection Kaua‘i, made a contribution to Keith Cruickshank, regional director of the Kaua‘i branch of the B&G Club, for distribution to members of the organization on Kaua‘i.
Jonel Kaohelauli‘i, the marketing director of Kukui Grove Center, assisted the effort, converting the amount into $10 gift cards for the mall, which Cruickshank said was distributed to active B&G Club members on Kaua‘i.
“We are appreciative of The Parrish Collection Kaua‘i and its vacation rental guests,” said Cruickshank. “This gift will spread aloha to our young people on Kaua‘i who need it the most during the holiday season.”
The presentation marked a percentage of Parrish Kaua‘i’s gross vacation rental bookings from Dec. 1 through 10, the funds being used so each child member of the B&G Club would have a brighter holiday, states a Parrish release.
“Our contribution goal to the B&G Club is $2,500,” said Parrish. “The holiday season is all about giving back and spreading holiday cheer, and we are excited to help some of Kaua‘i’s youth.”
The contribution to the B&G Club is based on gross sales revenue received by Parrish Kaua‘i from its online reservations and through its reservation office.
The B&G Club on Kaua‘i serves more than 4,000 youth through its programs at the Waimea Clubhouse, Lihu‘e and the Kapa‘a Clubhouse.
Many of the B&G participating youth come from disadvantaged circumstances and benefit from a safe place, which nurtures character development and life-enhancing skills.
A $1 membership fee provides access to programs islandwide at clubhouses and from its mobile unit vehicles, the release states. Children are mentored by professional staff and volunteers in the areas of sports, fitness, health, leadership, education, career development and culture.
