Calvin Paleka missed seeing one of the great basketball games in person, and Gregg Gonsalves got to watch the game on his iPad from an airport Tuesday night.
Hats off to both the Kapa‘a and Waimea high school girls basketball teams and their coaches William Aki and Elton Montemayor for such a great game!
If that game is any indication, Friday night’s game should be another doozy since Kristle Henry and Casey Anacleto were in the audience, sitting with Kaulupono coach Bobby Kamakele.
Bobby said Mililani is sending over a girls basketball team who will be playing Kaulupono, the Kamikaze and the Kaua‘i Ballers at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center, the title game taking place Saturday at 12:30 p.m. (Waimea parade after the game?)
It was a good thing Matthew Kawamura was at the soccer game Wednesday since he knew that Saturday’s regatta will be more viewer friendly than the three-mile trek upriver.
OK, time to figure out when to get out to Waimea for the annual Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade.
