LIHU‘E — In the month of November, home prices on Kaua‘i rose by double digits, although actual sale of properties were mixed.
According to data from Hawai‘i Information Service, the figures reflect a 13 percent increase, with the median price of a single-family home at $522,500 last month, up over the median price of $463,500 in November 2011.
So far this year, the median price of single family homes on Kaua‘i is $455,000, reflecting a 1 percent increase over the median price from the same time last year.
During November, 37 single family homes were sold. This is seven less than in the same month of 2011, when 44 homes were sold.
Over the past 11 months, sales were up 10 percent over last year.
Median prices on condominiums in November was $294,000, up 38 percent over the $212,500 prices a year ago. In the past 11 months, median prices have increased by 29 percent to $291,500.
More condos were sold as well, from 22 units sold last year to 28 units sold this year in November alone.
Condo sales over the past 11 months are up by 9 percent over the same period in 2011.
