Pacita C. Tadeo
Pacita C. Tadeo of Kaumakani, Kauai passed away on November 20, 2012 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. Born on October 9, 1928 in the Philippines, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernardo Tadeo; and her son, Nick Tadeo.
She is survived by her son, Billy (Baby) Tadeo, Melanio Tadeo, Jovito (Sitang) Tadeo, and Bernardo (Eva) Tadeo; daughters, Nelia (Celso) Cuaresma, Lolita (Jamie) Moniz, Marivic (Gilber) Corpuz; and daughter-in-law, Liza Tadeo; 5 grandchildren; and numerous grandchildren and great granchildren residing in the Philippines.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6:00 pm and prayer services will be celebrated at 7:00 pm.

Romulo Balbin
Romulo Andres Balbin of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on November 28, 2012, at the age of 68. He was born in Luna, Isabela, Philippines on July 2, 1944, and was employed by the County of Kauai with Parks & Recreation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria Balbin; brothers, Alfonso and Rudy Balbin; and sister, Editha Balbin.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Balbin of Lihue; three sons, Rendell Balbin, Ronald (Cora) Balbin, Romell (Bobble-Sue) Balbin all of Lihue; three grandchildren, Ryland Balbin, Isaiah Pascua Balbin, Asia Balbin; siblings, Venancio Balbin, Rosalia Pagulayan, Pacita Villanueva, Manoling Balbin; numerous nieces and nephews.
Wake services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012, from 6pm to 9pm, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Rosary starts at 7:00 pm.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m, and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Helen Galiza
Helen Macadangdang Galiza of Hanamaulu passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on December 2, 2012, at the age of 43. She was born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on December 20, 1968, and was a sales associate with Lihue Walmart.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Galiza of Hanamaulu; mother, Damiana Macadangdang of the Philippines, three brothers, Rolando (Linda) Macadangdang of the Philippines, Emmanuel (Susan) Macadangdang of Honolulu, Federico (Joanna) Macadangdang Jr. of Lihue; four sisters, Lerma (Honorato) Dela Cruz of Connecticut, Edna (Andrew) Georghiades of Greece, Priscilla Soriano of the Philippines, Lilliebeth (Nicomides) Dela Cruz of the Philippines; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Immaculate Conception church with viewing from 8:00 a.m., Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held in the Philippines.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Galiza family with arrangements.
Crisogono Melchor
Crisogono Simeon Melchor died peacefully on December 7, 2012 at his home in Omao at age 92. Born in the Philippines on November 21, 1920, he retried as a Broiler Operator from McBryde Sugar Mill in Koloa on March 22, 1982. He participated in the 2011 Koloa Plantation Days Parade as one of the oldest living 1946 Filipino Immigrant “Sakada” on Kauai.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clemente and Juana Melchor; brothers, Eugenio Melchor, Pomocino Melchor, Inocencio Melchor, and Pedro Melchor; brothers-in-law, Lauriano Gaoiran, and Ernesto Asuncion.
He is survived by his wife, Emilia Melchor of Omao; sons, Constante (Kay) Melchor of California, Tony (Diane) Melchor of Koloa; five grandchildren, Clinton (Leslie) Melchor of California, Cyrus Melchor of California, Tyson Melchor of Koloa, Kendrick Melchor of Koloa, Diandra Melchor of Oahu; brothers and sisters, Artemio (Rose) Melchor of Omao, Crispina Gaoiran of Koloa, Anacleto (Soledad) Melchor of Koloa, Rosa Melchor of Koloa, Ben (Amie) Melchor of Koloa, Manuel (Flora) Melchor of Koloa, Florita Asuncion of Koloa, Geranimo (Carrie) Melchor of Oahu; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Rafael Church, Koloa. Visitation will be from 8:30 am to 10:30 am with mass to follow at 11:00 am; Burial to follow at St. Raphael Church Cemetery.

Koon Ye Ching
Koon Ye Ching of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on November 25, 2012 at the age of 97 at Samuel Mahelona Hospital. Born in Lihue, Hawaii
on April 19, 1915, he worked for Lihue Plantation as the Safety Director
He was preceded in death by his parents, Koon Mun & Lum Shee Ching; wife, Phoebe Ching; brothers, Koon Wing, Koon Wai “Larry”, and Koon Lee Ching
He is survived by his sister, Shew Young “Florence” Leong, Oi Kam “Mildred” Kam , Mew Lung “Elsie” Goo; daughters, Lora (Robert) Deahl, Ellen (Michael Belles) Ching; son, Steven (Lisa Jobson) Ching; brother, Koon Chee “Wesley”; numerous nieces & nephews; and grandaughter, Erica Deahl.
Celebration of Life will begin on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Lihue Christian Church. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. with service to follow at 11:00 a.m.; Private burial. Family request flowers are omitted.

Hanako Duarte
Hanako Duarte died on August 20, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on April 30, 1921 in Makaweli, Hawaii. She was a housewife who later worked with her husband Angelo at Duarte’s Sales and Service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Zenjiro and Kama Arashiro,; brother, Mike Arashiro; sisters, Arlene Waiamau and Carol Lewis.
She is survived by her daughters Crystal Evans of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Coleen Bovee of Murrieta, California. She is also survived by her granddaughters Vanessa Bovee of Sacramento, California and Sabrina Bovee of Murrieta, California. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Moe, Irene Bretzel, Fay Tuley, Ruth Arashiro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Holy Cross Church on December 21, 2012 . Wake will be held from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. Mass will be held at 10:30 AM with burial to follow.
Virginia “Lorraine” Moniz
Virginia Lorraine Moniz of Kalaheo, Kauai passed away on December 5, 2012 at Kauai Veteran Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. Born on June, 27, 1926 in Koloa, Kauai, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Casey” Moniz.
She is survived by her daughter, Antonia Moniz; sons, Ernest (JoAnne) Moniz, John (Faith) Moniz, and Stacy (Bonny) Moniz; sisters, Agnes Costa, and Margaret Gouveia; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo at 9:00 am and mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.; inurnment to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
