HANAMA‘ULU — Firefighters are responding to a structure fire at the Hanama‘ulu Trading Company, located at 3-4251 Kuhio Highway that was originally reported at 3:19 p.m., according to county officials.
Firefighters report that the Hanama‘ulu Trading Company was fully engulfed by the time they reported to the scene and the blaze caused damaged to at least three other adjacent buildings.
Police have closed Kuhio Highway in Hanama‘ulu, between Hanama‘ulu Road and Laukona Street. Traffic is being diverted through the neighborhood but motorists are asked to avoid the area if at all possible and expect traffic delays.
Firefighters deemed the fire to be under control by 4:28 p.m., but will remain on scene until the blaze is fully extinguished.
No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, according to county officials.
