Members from Kaua‘i Gymnastics Academy will be showing off their skills in the food court area of Kukui Grove Center at 1 p.m. Sunday Dec. 9 at the 8th Annual Gymnastics Exhibition.
More than 35 gymnasts will tumble, flip, cartwheel their way on a Air4Tumble floor, which is an air-filled 6.5 foot by 32 foot tumble track. It’s the only one in Hawai‘i, according to the KGA, and was manufactured in Sweden.
Team members range in age from 7 to 16. The youngest team is called Iki Hui (small team); the middle team is the Hoku Hui (star team); and the highest level team is Kula Hui (gold team). They work out from 3 to 7 hours a week, depending on their level.
