LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i Jaycees will hold a free Christmas concert Saturday at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e.
This 17th annual Christmas show will start at 11 a.m. and lasts until 12:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
“The Christmas party is a benefit program to thank the community for its support of the Hawai‘i Jaycees,” said Steve Wage, a representative of the group who helps to organize the event. “It is a musical event with Christmas caroling before the feature entertainment begins.”
The performers include popular local vocalists Darrell Gonzales, Irene Yoshida and Jonah Cummings. The musician-singers will provide Christmas music with a Hawaiian flair.
Santa Claus will also be on hand and children will get some goodie bags at the end of the show.
Jeffery Gregg will return as the master of ceremonies. He will ask the audience question about Santa in between the songs.
“It’s just a really nice family event,” said Michael Gregg, who has provided the sound for many of the previous Christmas parties. “I just want the community to know and to come out and spend some time together with Santa. It’s free and there are prizes and gifts.”
The Hawai‘i Jaycees are a leadership training and personal development organization for youth and adults.
