PO‘IPU — The 2013 Kaua‘i Marathon is offering special holiday rates for kama‘aina and active military on race entry fees from Dec. 1 through 15.
The kama‘aina and active military rates for the half marathon is $50 during the special offer, a discount from its $75 normal fee. The full marathon entry fee is $70, discounted from its $105 regular fee, states a Kaua‘i Marathon release.
Discounts can be earned by mailing in registration forms, registering at active.com, or by visiting The Kaua‘i Marathon booth at the Honolulu Marathon Expo.
For those mailing in registration forms, the postmark must be before Dec. 15.
Kaua‘i Marathoners registering online can simply fill out the “Kama‘aina Holiday Promotion” entry form and mail to The Kaua‘i Marathon, P.O.Box 573, Koloa, HI 96756.
For those registering through active.com, the following codes apply: for the half marathon, use “Half” and for the full marathon, use “Full.”
The 2013 Kaua‘i Marathon, celebrating its fifth running on Kaua‘i, will take place on Sept. 1, 2013, starting at 6 a.m. on Po‘ipu Road fronting Keoki’s Paradise at the Po‘ipu Shopping Village. The run ends at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort.
During the fourth Kaua‘i Marathon, more than 500 Kaua‘i residents participated, said a Kaua‘i Marathon spokesperson.
Both the marathon and half marathon are certified by the USATF and feature sparkling blue water, pristine white beaches, lush rainforests as runners make their way through the course.
Kaua‘i’s tropical paradise is the backdrop for this world class event, which will not only lead runners through one of the world’s most beautiful marathon courses, but contributes net proceeds to local charities.
