HONOLULU – The University of Hawai‘i Warrior football team will host UNLV in its annual “Military Night” game Saturday at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium. Kick-off is 6 p.m.
For the game, the Warriors will don special red, white, and blue uniforms and helmets provided by Under Armour. The uniforms will be auctioned off following the game and proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. The action begins at 10 p.m. on Saturday and runs through Sunday Dec. 9 at www.HawaiiAthletics.com.
The UH Marching Band will honor the military at halftime with God Bless the USA and God Bless America sung by Staff Sergeant Samuel Hesch from the 111th Army National Guard Band. Bands representing each military branch will also perform during halftime.
In addition, select wounded warrior honorary captains will lead each team onto the field; participate in the coin toss; and will be recognized at halftime and throughout the game for their bravery and courage. During pregame, the Navy League will present Key Spouse Awards to deserving individuals from each service. Hesch will also sing the national anthem.
