Honorio Esposo
Honorio “Mariano” Aurelio Esposo of Omao, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on November 11, 2012 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. Born in Ilocos Norte, Philippines on December 11, 1923, he was a retired seed cutter for McBryde Sugar Plantation and a security guard for Wackenhut.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Celedonia Esposo; son, Richard Esposo; daughter, Patricia Versola; grandson, Kevin Smith; brother, Aniceto Esposo; and his first wife, Ricarda Esposo.
He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe “Fe” Esposo; daughters, Barbara (Steve) Holland, Marina (Bryan) Mori, Yolanda Remigio, Carolinda Jennings, Glenda (Jay) Fernandez; sons, Roming Esposo, Windelle (Janine) Esposo; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with service at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Stephen Mardonada
Stephen Angel Mardonada of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on November 17, 2012 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 48. Born in Honolulu, Oahu on November 18, 1963, he was a truck driver for the County of Kauai and a security guard for Kauai Beach Resort. He had a lifetime passion for his farm animals.
He is survived by his wife, Janis Mardonada; son, Makana Mardonada; God daughter, Kristen Apana, Forest Grove, Oregon; parents, Margaret (William) Kinney; sisters, Kealoha Medeiros, Raimie Mardonada, Gina (Mau) Failautusi; brother, Anthony Mardonada; mother-n-father in law, John and Janet; sister-n-law, Janel Apana; brother-n-law, Kevin Apana, New York; paternal grandmother, Emma Dickerson; and numerous aunties and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with service at 1:00 p.m.; burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery.

Frank Gampon Sr.
Frank Gampon Sr. of Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family, on November 17, 2012 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. Frank was born in McBryde Sugar Company Camp 18 at Kukuiula, Kauai on November 3, 1933. He served in the US Coast Guard; was a Merchant Marine, was a Poipu Beach Life Guard, and was retired as a County of Kauai Highway and Construction Maintenance Supervisor.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Ambrocia Gampon; stepfather, Jose Marquez; sister, Gloria Gampon; brother, Alfred “Sonny” Gampon; and son, Frank Gampon Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Renee Gampon; daughter, Yukiko “Yuki” (Mark) Sassone; sons, Christopher (Raydene) Gampon, Dario (Desiree Long) Gampon; brothers, Euphemiano “Mike” (Mathilde) Gampon, Washington, Rico (Janice) Gampon, Benjamin (Ursula) Gampon, Oahu, Joe (Annie) Gampon; sister, Josephine (Isadore Telesnick) Gampon, California;

Cory Jun Someda
Cory Jun Someda of Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii passed away on November 4, 2012 at home at the age of 54. Born on May 11, 1958 in Waimea, Kauai, he was vice president/business development manager for Finance Factors.
He is survived by his mother, Shizue Someda; father, Jerry Someda; sisters, Diane (Greg) Paresa, Maui, Dawn (Alan) Balocan, Kauai; stepdaughter, Leigh Nojima (Jordan) Chang, Oahu; nephew, Braden Balocan, Oregon; niece, Kerri Muraoka, Oahu, and umerous aunts,uncles and cousins.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel, Koloa. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with service at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Genaro Bonachita
Genaro “Kenneth” Bonachita of Hanapepe, Kauai, died on November 11, 2012 at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at the age of 83. Born on September 19, 1929, in Makaweli, he was a mill mechanic for 44 years with Olokele Sugar Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and five sisters.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn R. Bonachita; sons, Michael (Julie) Bonachita of Hanapepe, and Joseph Genaro Bonachita of Hanapepe; daughters, Sharlene (Barney) Valdez of California, Kareen Gardner of Kalaheo, Debbie (Eddie) Ponting of Kekaha, Beverly (Anthony) Kauahi of Kekaha, Judith Leilani (Andy) Carino of Waipahu, Jacquelyn K. Braun of Koloa, and Jessie C. (Gerrick) Barretto of Wailua; sister, Blanche Christobal; twenty-six grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Lihue Latter Day Saints. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., service starts at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery.

Elsie Yuriko Toyofuku
Elsie Yuriko Toyofuku passed away on October 22, 2012. She was born on March 7, 1929 in Hanamaulu, Kauai. Retired from Kauai Medical Group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hiroshi Toyofuku.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy Toyofuku, Lisa Taketa and sons, Guy Toyofuku, Dean Toyofuku. Including eight grandchildren.
Private services were held on November 18, 2012 at Lihue Hongwanji Mission.
Donald Arruda
Donald Thomas Arruda of Kapaa passed away at home on November 19, 2012, at the age of 75. He was born in Kapaa, Kauai on April 17, 1937, and retired as a heavy equipment operator with the County of Kauai.
She was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Arruda.
He is survived by three sons, Barry Arruda, Allan Arruda both of Kapaa, Keala (Darlene) Arruda of Oregon; 3 grandchildren; sister, Theresa (Ronald) Fune of Hanamaulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at St. Catherine Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Arruda family with arrangements.

Arthur “Buzzy” Russ Ferreira of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on October 19, 2012 at home in Kapaa, at the age of 65. Born on December 29, 1946 in Honolulu, Oahu, he was retired from Bronco Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Grace “Jackie” Kamai
his mother-in-law Kanani Kahaunaele and sister–in-law Cindy Kahaunaele.
