WAILUA — Brandon Carvalho took top honors in three class during the Kaua‘i Motocross Riders Association motocross Sunday at the Wailua Motocross Track.
Carvalho topped the 250 Expert, the 450 Expert and the Open A class to lead the field of winners at the event, which unfolded under sunny skies and resulted in hot action on the dirt track.
In both the 250 Expert and the 450 Expert, Carvalho was the sole victor while in the Open A class, he edged out Brian Medeiros for the honor.
Cory Goias-Soares, who also does time with the Koloa Redskins Pop Warner football team, topped the 50A class over Alexander Nelson and Richard Silliman. Goias-Soares also added to his winnings by topping the 65B class over Richard Silliman, David Carvalho and Alexander Nelson.
David Dabin was also a dual-class winner, taking the 65A class with a sole win and topping the 85B class over Dylan Swanson and Goias-Soares.
Tori Santiago topped Kamu Santiago for top spot in the Keiki Quad class, and Treysen Barretto was the sole contender for the 85A class and a top honor winner in the Open B class over Kai Haugland.
Bryson Yoro opened up the midweights by topping the 250AM class over Kai Haugland and Kimo Azares while Isaac Oshita, a strong Veteran class rider, topped the 450AM class over Bryson Yoro, Shawn Taguas, Randall Osakoda and Darrell Dabin.
Rodel Domingo pocketed the top honor in the Big Bike Beginner class over the efforts of Dean Silliman and Jim Littlefield.
David Amorin topped Dean Silliman and Jim Littlefield in the Masters class.
Paul Medeiros finished tops in the Quad class over Irwin Santiago.
The KMRA officials and members sends its appreciation to all the volunteers who came out to help during the track preparation ahead of the motocross.
KMRA officials are encouraging riders to get in practice time at the Wailua Motocross Track ahead of the next event, The Labor Day races, which they said is the biggest race of the year and will be run on Sept. 1 and 2 at the Wailua Motocross Track.
This is the 58th Annual Labor Day Motocross and Hare and Hound trail race.
