HONOLULU — The Waimea Menehune traveled to O‘ahu to compete in the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Division II Girls Volleyball State Championships to take on Kailua High School at the Kalani High School gym on Tuesday. The Menehune were successful in its first round beating Kailua 27-25, 16-25, 25-19 and 25-21 for the 3-1 win.
The Menehune were led by Mariyah Oliver, who tallied 18 kills and one ace in the match, and Kawena Warren, who added 13 kills of her own and a match-high of five blocks. Paige Ando added nine kills and an ace on the way to its victory according to sportshigh.com
The Menehune finished undefeated at 12-0 and have continued its winning streak in the New City Nissan/Hawai’i High School Athletic Association Division II Girls Volleyball State Championships.
