LIHU‘E — A woman with an ankle injury required an air rescue from Na Pali Coast on Sunday.
According to County of Kaua‘i communication, the Kaua‘i Fire Department received a call at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday. They responded to a female with an injured ankle on the Kalalau Trail near the Hanakapiai Stream crossing.
Air 1 with Rescue 3 responded and extracted the 30-year-old female visitor. She was flown to the Princeville Airport and chose to seek medical attention via private vehicle rather than take AMR transport to Wilcox Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
Her current condition is unknown.
