An arrest has been made in the murder of Sandra Galas, the County of Kaua‘i reported this morning.

The Kaua‘i Police Department arrested Darren Galas, 40 of Kalaheo, for the 2006 murder of his estranged wife, Sandra Galas.

On Jan. 25, 2006, Sandra Mendonca Galas, 27, was found dead in her car parked inside the garage of her ‘Ele‘ele home. An autopsy revealed Galas, the mother of two young boys 3 and 5, was brutally strangled.

Galas is currently in custody with bail set at $1,000,000.00.
