When size matters

Kaua‘i Police Department responded to a complaint of a truck hauling an oversized boat on Kaumuali‘i Highway in Waimea at around 6 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle’s operator was found to be in violation of a number of state and county traffic codes, including hauling the oversized load without a necessary permit from the state Department of Transportation, county spokeswoman Sarah Blane said in a press release. Police instructed the driver to park the boat and trailer until a proper permit could be obtained.
