Goro Yamanaka
Goro Yamanaka of Yigo, Guam, passed away on February 3, 2012 at the age of 86. Born on August 17, 1925, he was retired from Federal Civil Service at Anderson Air Force Base, Guam.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce T. Yamanaka.
He is survived by his son, Greg, daughter-in-law, Marilou, and two grandchildren.
Private services were held at Mililani Memorial Park on Oahu on August 18, 2012 and his ashes laid to rest next to his first wife, Joyce.
Masaichi Shibuya
Masaichi Shibuya of Puhi passed away at home on September 8, 2012, at the age of 97. He was born in Halehaka, Kauai on September 10, 1914, and retired as a tractor driver with Lihue Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ayako Shibuya.
He is survived by two sons, Roy M. Shibuya of Virginia and Glenn Y. (Gail) Shibuya of Puhi; one brother George “Chica” (Hanako) Mori of Puhi; 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services were held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Shibuya family with arrangements.
Fusako Murai
Fusako Murai of Honolulu died on September 13, 2012 at the age of 89. Born in December, 1922 in Kealia, Kauai, she was a retired office clerk at the University of Hawaii (Manoa).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tsutomu Murai.
She is survived by her son, Howard Y. Murai; daughters, Linda H. Murai and Candace F. Morita (of Los Angeles, CA); brothers, Takeo Nakagawa and Henry Nakagawa; sister, Karen Leigh (of Nebraska); 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren;
Private services were held.
