LIHU‘E — The public is invited to join the state Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Council division for its “Transitions for a Secure Tomorrow” centering around children, teenagers and adults with disabilities who are transitioning to elementary, intermediate and high school and the work force.
Leolinda Parlin of Hilopa‘a Family to Family Health Information Center will be the guest speaker for the Sept. 27 presentation, which will take place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e.
El Doi, a program specialist at the Department of Health, said the public will have an opportunity to hear the Kaua‘i legislative and Kaua‘i County Council candidates share their views on various concerns and questions regarding “Transitions” for individuals with disabilities.
Additionally, informational booths will be presented by various agencies.
The “Transitions for a Secure Tomorrow” is presented in partnership with the Kaua‘i Developmental Disabilities Committee, the Kaua‘i Community Children’s Council, Hawai‘i Families as Allies, the Mayor’s Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator and the State Council on Developmental Disabilities.
