Kaua‘i’s Patricia Ewing to serve as Hawai‘i Tourism Authority board vice chair
HONOLULU — The Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA) board of directors announced last week that Ronald Williams has been reappointed as its chairperson and Patricia Ewing has been appointed vice chairperson.
“On behalf of the HTA, I’d like to recognize and thank Ron and Patti for their hard work and dedication toward enhancing the HTA’s goals and initiatives,” said Mike McCartney, HTA president and CEO, in a news release. “Their expertise and insight have been invaluable assets, affecting positive growth towards Hawai‘i’s tourism economy, and we look forward to their continued leadership and service.”
Patricia Ewing, owner of Kong Lung Company, has been a board member since 2006 as a representative of Kaua‘i County. Ewing oversees operations at Kong Lung Historic Market Center in Kilauea.
“We are pleased that Patti will be taking a leadership role with the board, offering insight and dedication that is valuable to enhancing the HTA’s tourism initiatives,” said McCartney.
This will be Williams’ third consecutive one-year term as board chair. He was first appointed to the HTA board in 2010. With more than 30 years of visitor industry experience, Williams currently serves as the president and CEO at Atlantis Adventures. He resides on Maui.
“Beyond his leadership and expertise in the tourism industry, Ron exemplifies the aloha spirit that represents and differentiates the Hawaiian Islands from the rest of the world,” said McCartney.
