Trustworthiness is the subject of this year’s essay and artwork contest for fourth-grade students sponsored by the Hawai‘i and National Family and Community Education.
The Kaua‘i association for FCE invites fourth grade students to write and essay and create a hand-drawn picture related to the essay on the subject of trustworthiness, one of the Six Pillars of Character.
The contest runs from Sept. 1 through Jan. 31.
The FCE nationwide contest provides an opportunity for students to improve literacy skills and develop ethical values. The contest is open to any fourth-grade student attending public, private or home school.
Gavin Acob of Kapa‘a Elementary School was the first- prize winner of the Kaua‘i FCE contest last year. He went on to finish second place in the Hawai‘i state competition.
