KQNG Radio Group’s Mark Valentine traded in his microphone for a drill Wednesday, joining scores of other people in setting up for the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau Fair.
The activity didn’t stop Kaua‘i High School cross country coaches Richard Matsumoto and Fred Sasan from holding 800 pace drills for the upcoming Waimea Invitational cross country meet.
Larry Feinstein was busy moving trucks and other events, but promised a breakdown of the “greening” efforts once the fair gets underway.
Pioneer Hi-Bred’s Dr. Cindy Goldstein was thrilled to be back home and Growing Greens Nursery’s Liz Ronaldson had one magnificent anthurium specimen to unpack, checking with Roy Yamakawa to see what kind of criteria is involved for anthurium judging.
Melissa McFerrin was already looking ahead to the Celebrity Cookoff and George Mukai was taking care of the Kaua‘i Anthurium Club business ahead of his vegetables.
OK, it’s Friday so the fair opens at 6 p.m. and visit www.thegardenisland.com for the evening’s events.
